Traveling Mary sign up
This year we would like to offer our FFP families the opportunity to participate in a Traveling Mary experience. You do this by hosting a statue of Mary and creating a Marion Altar in your home for a week. It is an occasion to honor Mary and to pray as a family. After your week the statue will go to the next FFP family on the list. You will be responsible to contact that family to come to your home to pick up and transfer the statue to their home. This will begin in September and continue through the month of May. Families can sign up below. What Do You Need for a Marion Altar? The parish has the statue of Mary which families can host in their home for a week.
At the end of your week, contact the next family on the list for them to come to your home and transfer the statue of the Blessed Mother to them. While visiting, please take the opportunity to say a prayer with that next family at your altar. If you would like to share a picture of your Marion Altar with us, please email it to Suzy. Then we will feature it in our weekly newsletter. Traveling Mary sign up, click below.

Thank you for continuing your family’s faith journey with Our Lady. We are offering a student-based program, and a home-based (family) program. Text books will be available either as a hard copy or electronically, ebook. Please make your preference on the Google Document form; INFORMATION/PHOTO CONSENT/MEDICAL EMERGENCY FORM. Our mission is Gospel oriented: to form disciples as individuals, as families, and as a parish. We will accomplish this by providing a variety of opportunities for both personal and family growth in our Catholic Faith and traditions. We want to continue to support your faith journey, enhance your role as the primary catechists of your children, and to be a resource as we all mature in Jesus Christ. In addition to our Faith Formation Program, we have sacramental preparation programs for those families and children seeking to celebrate First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. For students who attend Catholic School, FFP sacramental registration is required in order to celebrate sacraments. Please contact the Parish Office. To reach our Faith Formation Program mission and achieve our goals, our program is divided into two cycles, Autumn 2021 and Winter 2022. Please review the attached calendar and schedule for the specific times and dates. Assessment Requirements All 6th, 7th and 8th Grade students have an end of the year final, except for those students that turn in all homework and classroom assessment by the end of the year. * Sacramental Preparation * The Diocese of Youngstown requires two years of religious education and faithful attendance in the program before any sacrament can be celebrated. Additional required meetings for parents of students requesting First Reconciliation and First Communion are scheduled. These students will also need to complete “at home folders”. Additional sessions are scheduled on Sunday evenings for 8th graders seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation. Missed Classes for Middle Schoolers Students are expected to attend all classes; therefore, any missed classes must be made up. If they are unable to attend, they will be responsible for completing and submitting that missed lesson’s assessment. Winter 2023 Session: (option 2) Home-Based (Family) Program This intergenerational program is designed to assist parents who are sharing their faith with their children in the home context. Home-based families are expected to participate in all of the autumn sessions. Weekly completed home assignments are due each month. Completion of all assignments by the end of April is required to receive religious formation credit for the year. A packet of assessments for each assigned chapter can be printed out upon request. Otherwise all assessments will be emailed to students to be completed on line and returned electronically. Optional activities will be offered during the winter session. TBA. According to diocesan policies, those anticipating First Reconciliation, First Eucharist or Confirmation must faithfully complete assigned assessments AND participate fully in the sacramental preparation sessions. * See above Do You Want to Teach? Fees are reduced for the children of catechist/teachers and aids. Our program is successful because of the commitment of our catechists and volunteers.
